Taming the mighty mind

The word mind in a general sense holds an awful lot of importance considering it's imaginative ability and the limit being the sky. After all, Einstein himself said, “The true sign of intelligence is not knowledge but imagination.” However, sometimes we let it dominate our own lives like it has a say, just for being a vital organ.

To be more specific, our mind can  prove to be essential only when we have total control over it but not the other way around. Since, it has the tendency to distract you in the blink of an eye, and put you in a state of thinking that you’d never wish to be, and worst of all is, its ability to assume half of the things from an irrational perspective which contributes to mental unrest.

Just as a horse trainer rigorously develops control over a horse by means of his taming skills. Similarly we have to acquire tools like meditation or any mental or physical exercise which helps you attain focus, or even maintaining a journal in order to keep check of our day-to-day activities can also help us in making necessary improvements.

It’s almost impossible to achieve anything in life unless we have a stable mental perspective on life. I’m not trying to generalise that everyone’s got a weak mind, but if you do realise at any point that your mind should be tamed, then try using the above mentioned tools to counter the problem. Even as little as maintaining positive attitude towards your goals and objectives can furthermore help you immensely. Above all, a strong faith or believe can conquer anything in this universe.

You know, Sadguru always says that the biggest enemy is nobody but yourself, it's not outside, it's inside, most of the time,  referring to our own mind which is in the brittle state, given the tech-centric culture that we got adopted to. We’re always in this false pretext that as long as our external body is healthy, so will be our internal mental health, but unfortunately that’s not the case all the time.

A calm and composed mind will help us to pave way into most difficult of difficult situations, whereas an agitated mind will just further add to mental disharmony, which in turn leads to lack of focus and disorganisation. Always remember to acknowledge the power of mind over body and spending some time to harness it with positive thoughts is crucial given the funny society that we’re presently living in. Stephen Hawkins may have been physically disabled but his powerful mind and intuition had always let him explore the uncharted territory.

I’m merely a messenger; it’s upon you to bring about that change. Like I mentioned before that our mind is like a wild horse, it has to be tamed from time to time, so that it does not play dirty tricks on us and become a barrier rather than becoming a tool to enhance our overall spiritual progress in life. The reason I’m emphasising on spiritual elevation over material is because there are certain things in life which money cant't buy.
